Fiber ends of the gray cloth are singed off by a burner flame. This is combined with a bleaching foulard. The bleaching substance removes natural color from the fiber and afterwards it appears nearly white. After a certain retention time, the fabric runs through a mercerization- and washing machine.
The special mercerisation process makes the fabric becomes smoother, shinier and optimally prepared for further finishing processes.
During finishing, important performance characteristics such as the easy-iron finish are obtained through technically advanced systems.
The fabric gets the desired feel and shine from the calender.
